A friend of mine recently asked how to get into stripping in Las Vegas. After doing the research, I thought I’d share the info for anyone else out there that wanted to do it. (I’m not liable for any of the following content, it is for informational purposes only)

Plan to arrive in Las Vegas on a Monday through Friday as you won’t be able to do the necessary paperwork on the weekend. Also get started early in the morning, even though it’s Vegas, these government offices are only open during normal business hours.

When you come to Las Vegas make sure that you bring the following with you: 2 forms of Identification (driver’s license, state issued I.D., social security card, military I.D., DD214, U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, baptismal certificate, and Alien I.D. card) If you are under 25, a state issued birth certificate is also required. This is not negotiable, you will not get a Sheriffs Card without it. If you were not born in the United States, then you must bring one of the following: Naturalization Certificate; U.S. Passport, U.S. birth certificate; or Alien I.D. Card.

Research clubs online and make a list of places you would like to work. If you are over 21, you can work in any club in Las Vegas. If you are between the ages of 18-20, don’t despair! You can still work, but you are limited to the full nude clubs that do not serve alcohol.

When you arrive in Las Vegas, you will need to go to any club and get a signed referral slip. You will need this referral slip to get what is called the Las Vegas Sheriff’s Card. Basically it is just a state issued ID card for people who work in the casino and entertainment industry. The club where you get the referral doesn’t have to be where you plan to work; you just need the paperwork. Just walk in and tell them that you are a dancer looking for a job and you want a referral slip for a Sheriff’s Card. They hear this often, and some places will even have a packet right there ready to give you with all of the information. Don’t be discouraged if the first club doesn’t give you the paperwork. Strippers are a dime a dozen in Las Vegas, and often times the person you ask for the paperwork is just too lazy to get up and look for it. Just move on to the next club. Allow an hour or two if you are not familiar with the city of Las Vegas and where the clubs are located, to drive around and get this referral slip.

Keep in mind it doesn’t matter what club you get the referral slip from. You don’t have to work there! Once you have your Sheriff’s card, you can audition at any club you want. For many years, Cheetah’s was known for being the easiest club to get the referral slip. The door girl had a stack of them and they would hand out hundreds a day. Over time it became too well known that Cheetah’s would hand out the referral slips… so everyone went there first and then never came back to work there! As a result, they stopped handing out the referrals at the door and you now have to speak to a manager.

Take your two forms of ID, birth/naturalization certificate if needed, signed referral slip, and $45 to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fingerprinting Office. It is in the suburbs west of Mandalay Bay off Russell Road between 8 am and 4pm, Monday-Friday. The address is: 5880 Cameron St Las Vegas, NV (702) 828-3271

Bring a book or magazine and prepare to wait at least an hour and a half for the fingerprinting and background check. If you have outstanding warrants or an extensive criminal history, your Sheriff’s Card will most likely be denied. If you are approved, you will not have to do this process again for another five years.

Now that you have your work card, you’ll need a business license. You can get your Nevada state business license at the Department of Taxation.

The two locations are:

Grant Sawyer Office Building 555 E. Washington Ave Suite 1300 Las Vegas, Nevada

or

2550 Paseo Verde Suite 180 Henderson, Nevada 89074 (this location has changed, contact them for new address)

You can go to either location. The cost for a business license is $200 and it is valid for one year. You will be given a temporary license that can be used immediately and a permanent copy will be sent to you in the mail.

Take the work card, and temporary business license to the club where you want to work. Most Las Vegas strip clubs are open twenty four hours. The prime night shifts start at 9pm, so go to the club at that time to get hired. Since there are so many girls showing up daily to get hired, many of the clubs do not make you change out of your street clothes to audition. Rather they evaluate you based on your appearance in your street clothes, so look sexy! Most of the clubs have their own rules as to dress code, and they will let you know what those rules are. Some are gown clubs, others you can wear whatever costume you like.

The club will make a copy of your business license, and want to see your Sheriff’s Card. You will need to show your Sheriff’s Card every time you show up for work. Some clubs will add a sticker with a bar code on the back of the card, other clubs use fingerprint recognition software to identify you when you walk in the club. You should also keep a copy of your business license in your purse, just in case. Be sure to renew your business license every year. You will get paperwork in the mail reminding you to do so.

Stripping in Las Vegas is a completely different experience than stripping in other metropolitan cities. The supply and demand of this industry is somewhat unique in Vegas. Because the clubs are bigger and have more staff means that you have more bad dancers. It’s just the Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule) exemplified through larger numbers. It’s more difficult to see the effects of this in a club with 20 dancers, but in a club with 250, it’s more obvious. THIS is why you have guys who waive dancers away or turn their back to the tip-rail. It’s because in a club with 200 dancers in it, you have 160 of them who haven’t got a clue what to do correctly to make the customers want to buy. As a result, you have guys who have been badgered by seven or eight “Wanna dance” girls before you show up. As a result they tend to be pickier and sometimes more standoffish to find the right girl to spend their money.

Unlike your home club, you will not get to choose the music for your stage set. In fact, many entertainers opt to pay extra to NOT have to go onstage. There are different philosophies for why this could be beneficial. In some clubs there are so many girls, that not very many customers are watching the stages. For every song you are onstage, you could be selling a lapdance. In other clubs, the stage tipping is very good; so it worth being on the rotation. Use your best judgment.

Many of the clubs post a schedule of conventions in the dressing room. You can access this schedule online. Some of the biggest conventions of the year are Consumer Electronic Show and The Adult Video Network in January, World of Concrete and MagicOnline in February, March Madness and ConExpo every 3 years in March, NAB in April, ICS in May, Gentlemen’s Club Expo in August, and SEMA in November.

Also, cross reference hotel room rates for the higher priced casinos like Bellagio, Wynn, and Venetian. Anytime there is an abnormal spike in room rates reflects an increased demand for hotel rooms.

I used to think that staying home alone on a Saturday night was depressing. Like, what’s wrong with me, shouldn’t I be out having fun and socializing with people?

Well, a lot’s changed in my life and how I perceive things.. it doesn’t matter that I live in Vegas or that my friends are VIP and go to the best parties or that there’s an excuse to go out practically every night here..

I may live physically in Vegas but my mind’s in Oregon. What that means is that I think that I mentally live in Oregon although I’m here in Vegas. So when friends invite me to go out, I just think to myself “I can’t, I’m all the way in Oregon, it’s impossible”.. and I end up staying in. And the next day I feel great and so thankful that I did stay in. Going out doesn’t appeal to me like it used to. I’m not trying to get wasted or get laid. I want to stay focused on what I’m doing, and that’s building my business and my future. I haven’t used my brain to its full potential in the past, opting to waste time with people that just wanted to party and nothing else.. I finally feel powerful as staying focused and on schedule has made me super productive and helped me to achieve some short-term goals.. a long-term goal is financial freedom and I’m giving myself two years to get there..

Another distraction is girls.. having been a dancer in this city, I’ve encountered plenty and I used to think it was cool to go out with girls every weekend.. all my friends would say how lucky i was and think i was so cool.. but in the end, was it all worth it? I have some crazy cool memories but I also have plenty of wasted times.. getting stupid and chasing chicks.. and for what? Just to feel more alone as I wasn’t ever going to meet someone quality at my show or at the club. Sure there’s a chance but it’s practically slim to none. The kind of girl I want as a GF is someone who’s not just beautiful on the outside, but intelligent, funny, a great heart and someone who values others for who they are on the inside, and not for how cool they portray themselves to be or how much money they flash just to get attention.. this town is so full of fakers chasing fakers.. it’s like, we’re all advertising how cool we are on the outside, but really hiding how insecure we are on the inside.

I don’t care anymore about how cool people think I am. I’m a dork and proud of it! I’ll always be me and won’t change for anyone. I used to compromise in order to keep up with friends, but now realize I was just keeping up because i wasn’t strong enough to stand for what I believe in.

So now things have changed. If you want to be my friend, you better be a good person first of all, you should enjoy hanging out at the gym or having lunch.. I’m not about late nights and getting f**ked up.. be a motivator, a supporter, have big goals and a strong drive to be the best.. and then we can hang!

So it’s Saturday night and I’m happy to chill with my dogs and watch some netflix. Tomorrow I got lunch with the family and some house painting to do. After that, business as usual!

If you want to party with me, let’s plan to go crazy in 2012, when I’ll be flying first class to my timeshare in Brazil. Peace!

So here’s something not a lot of people like to talk about. Getting tested for STD’s!

Yeah, I know it’s not a lot of fun to think about.. STD’s are gross so you usually try to keep it out of your head. But bottom line: If you want to have fun in the sack, you should at least know that you’re safe AS WELL as your partner.

So now it comes down to getting tested. How do you do this? Well, I learned a while back that even with health insurance, I had to pay full price at the labs for the tests (over $800!). My doctor didn’t know the costs, just wrote me a prescription for it. When I went to the lab, they said that the tests weren’t covered under “Preventative Maintenance”. I was like “Wow, so insurance companies are helping to discourage people from getting tested. Great!”. An STD test should be economical and encouraged. It’s ridiculous that it costs this much.

So I did some research and I found some great solutions.

#1) If you’re in Las Vegas, go to the Southern Nevada Health District (http://www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/std-clinic/index.php). There you can get screened for only $30. They test for HIV, Hepatitis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

#2) If you don’t live in Las Vegas, go to: http://www.gytnow.org. This site (sponsored by MTV) will take you to a directory of clinics in your neighborhood.

#3) For additional testing, you can go to: http://www.requestatest.com. There you can order specific lab tests and get them done for cheaper than going straight to the labs.

If you go to the SNHD, go early in the morning to avoid lines. Be sure to drink lots of water as there is a piss test. And there’s a blood test (ugh, i hate needles!). If you have an active sex life with more than one partner then you should get tested no less than once every three months. Just don’t forget the condom and be sure to take a look at the goods before getting down to business!

So that’s it. Good luck, safe sex, peace, love and happiness

Here’s a list of common household things that can be potentially harmful to you.

Your kitchen sponge
Maybe you’ve heard about the germs on your kitchen sponge (gross news flash—there may be as many as 20 million microbes on it right now). But here’s the deal: Your method for “cleaning” that sponge may be leaving it loaded with potentially hazardous bacteria that can make you ill. Researchers at the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service found that some common cleaning methods for sponges—soaking them in a bleach solution, lemon juice or water—did not eradicate the germs.

What to do

The best ways to clean a dirty sponge, they say, are in the microwave (on high for one minute) and in the dishwasher, which will kill 99.9 percent of all germs.
Your bed
Have you been on a trip recently? If so, you may have brought home some hitchhikers—of the creepy-crawly variety. Bedbugs, tiny bloodthirsty insects, are hosts to organisms that cause hepatitis B and Chagas disease, say health experts. But the real problem seems to be the infections and allergic reactions that can sometimes result from bedbug bites.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, bedbugs are on the rise and becoming an increasing health problem. The insects, which hide in the crevices of mattresses and bedding, are showing up everywhere, from hostels to the swankiest hotels, and they often find their way into people’s luggage, transporting themselves to unsuspecting homes.

What to do

If you’ve done some traveling recently, and especially if you’ve noticed any mysterious bug bites, wash everything in your luggage and consider scrubbing your suitcase with a stiff brush before giving it a good vacuuming.

Your laptop
You’re the only one who uses it, so how dirty can it be? In a word: filthy. A study by researchers at the University of North Carolina Health Care System found that keyboards were loaded with germs.
Even more disgusting, the average public toilet bowl contains 41 germs per square inch. The average personal keyboard? Some 21,000 germs per square inch. “Toilet bowls get cleaned,” says Philip M. Tierno Jr., Ph.D., director of clinical microbiology and immunology at New York University Langone Medical Center, “but keyboards rarely do.”

What to do

Tierno says the best way to keep your laptop or computer’s keyboard clean is to gently wipe it down daily with disinfecting wipes.

Your shower curtain
According to research by the Center for Health, Environment & Justice, shower curtains and liners made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) may be harmful to your health.

Their study suggests that PVC releases potentially harmful chemicals into your bathroom. While there is still some debate among health experts about how much of these chemicals could be deemed harmful, many believe that limiting your exposure to chemicals, wherever possible, makes sense.

What to do

Check your shower curtain’s label to see if it’s made of vinyl or PVC. While not all manufacturers disclose this information, some retailers, like Ikea, have banned PVC shower curtains altogether, and Target has promised to phase out the material in its shower-curtain products in the months ahead.
Your laundry
Nobody thinks of the washing machine as a germ magnet—that’s where clothes get clean, right? Not if you’re using a public machine, and especially if that machine uses water that’s not hot enough, says Tierno.

Here’s why: Lower temperatures can encourage the spread of germs. Researchers at the University of Arizona found that intestinal viruses such as hepatitis A can be easily transferred from underwear to other garments during the washing process. Even worse, some germs can lurk in public washing machines and find their way to your clothes.

What to do

Wash your underwear and towels separately, using bleach if possible, and wash all towels in water that’s at least 155 degrees, which will kill most germs. Not sure if your apartment’s water temperature is hot enough? Talk to the building manager.

Your humidifier
Watch out for the humidifier, say germ experts. “If it’s not cleaned properly, a humidifier can become a repository for legionella and other pathogens that cause respiratory infections,” says Tierno.

What to do

If you like sleeping with a humidifier in your room, be sure to clean it often—at least a few times a week—by mixing a solution of one-part bleach to 19 parts water (for most humidifiers, this would equal about a half or full cup of bleach) and letting it sit for a few minutes before rinsing well.

Your doorknob
Think of the people who have touched your front doorknob in the past 48 hours: the UPS man, a neighbor, a solicitor, your friends—it’s easy to lose count. Now think of all the places they’ve been—the subway, public restrooms, grocery stores. Those germs are all on your doorknob right now, says Tierno.

Most people let their guard down when it comes to their own door handles, he says, but we shouldn’t: “Viruses can survive for days on doorknobs, and you can easily get cross contamination from them,” he says.

What to do

Make a habit of wiping down your doorknob frequently with sanitizing wipes or sprays. Have a copper doorknob? You may be in luck. Researchers in England found that copper door handles had 95 percent fewer microorganisms on them compared with other doorknobs. Scientists believe that many germs, including MRSA, may not be able to survive on copper.

Your salt and pepper shakers
When’s the last time you cleaned your salt and pepper shakers? Exactly. These unassuming little items get touched in all parts of the meal-prep process. Example: You give your sauce a dash of salt after touching raw chicken (oops) and then later set the shaker on the table.

What to do

Nobody thinks of cleaning their salt and pepper shakers, says Elizabeth Scott, Ph.D., assistant professor and co-director Simmons Center for Hygiene and Health in Home and Community at Simmons College, but to avoid cross-contamination and food poisoning, you should. “Best to wipe them with an EPA-registered disinfectant,” she says. “But better still, always wash your hands after handling raw foods and before touching anything else.”

EXTRACT FROM DOUG COPP’S ARTICLE ON THE: “TRIANGLE OF LIFE”

My name is Doug Copp. I am the Rescue Chief and Disaster Manager of the American Rescue Team International (ARTI), the world’s most experienced rescue team. The information in this article will save lives in an earthquake.

I have crawled inside 875 collapsed buildings, worked with rescue teams from 60 countries, founded rescue teams in several countries, and I am a member of many rescue teams from many countries…

I was the United Nations expert in Disaster Mitigation for two years. I have worked at every major disaster in the world since 1985, except for simultaneous disasters.

The first building I ever crawled inside of was a school in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake. Every child was under its desk. Every child was crushed to the thickness of their bones. They could have survived by lying down next to their desks in the aisles. It was obscene, unnecessary and I wondered why the children were not in
the aisles. I didn’t at the time know that the children were told to hide under something.

Simply stated, when buildings collapse, the weight of the ceilings falling upon the objects or furniture inside crushes these objects, leaving a space or void next to them. This space is what I call the “triangle of life”. The larger the object, the stronger, the less it will compact. The less the object compacts, the larger the void, the greater the probability that the person who is using this void for safety will not be injured. The next time you watch collapsed buildings, on television, count the “triangles” you see formed. They are everywhere. It is the most common shape, you will see, in a collapsed building.

TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) Most everyone who simply “ducks and covers” WHEN BUILDINGS COLLAPSE are crushed to death. People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position. You should too in an earthquake… It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks. Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on The back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed during an earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Most everyone who gets under a doorway when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above. If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different “moment of frequency” (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads – horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn’t collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are a likely part of the building to be damaged. Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by
fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.
Get Near the Outer Walls Of Buildings Or Outside Of Them If Possible – It is much better to be near the outside of the building rather than the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked.

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway… The victims of the San Francisco earthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. They could have easily survived by getting out and sitting or lying next to their vehicles. Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, that paper does not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

Spread the word and save someone’s life… The Entire world is experiencing natural calamities so be prepared!

“We are but angels with one wing, it takes two to fly”.
In 1996 we made a film, which proved my survival methodology to be correct. The Turkish Federal Government, City of Istanbul, University of Istanbul Case Productions and ARTI cooperated to film this practical, scientific test. We collapsed a school and a home with 20 mannequins inside. Ten mannequins did “duck and cover,” and ten mannequins I used in my “triangle of life” survival method. After the simulated earthquake collapse we crawled through the rubble and entered the building to film and document the results. The film, in which I practiced my survival techniques under directly observable, scientific conditions, relevant to building collapse, showed there would have been zero percent survival for those doing duck and cover. There would likely have been 100 percent survivability for people using my method of the “triangle of life.” This film has been seen by millions of viewers on television in Turkey and the rest of Europe, and it was seen in the USA, Canada and Latin America on the TV program Real TV.

Check out http://www.foodincmovie.com for more info on this movie. This will open up your eyes!! Do you know that you can be sued for saying you don’t like meat in public? Do you know that over 90% of our soy comes from genetically altered seeds? And the antibiotics used to grow corn and the steroids and hormones used to pump up cattle and chicken are flowing in your blood stream and F’ing your body up?!

It goes on and on.. and of course, you probably have no idea how INHUMANE the food industry is in growing and slaughtering the animals we eat. Even Satan would be like “Damn!”. I’m going to local farmers markets for now on for my food. You can find one close to you at http://www.eatwellguide.org.

I can’t wait to feel the difference now that I’m more aware of what I put in my body. We live our life as an ignorant mass, just like cattle, following the herd to fast food joints and fueling the system that only cares about the bottom dollar and could give a damn about our health! I’m disgusted at the Government and it’s corruption.. the FDA and USDA.. all being paid off to pass the worst bills that don’t alert the consumer or protect them from genetically and chemically altered food. It’s all about the meat and soy industry getting paid, about McDonalds lining up their pockets.. People.. wake up! Stop shoving food in your mouth unless you have some kind of idea of where it comes from!

Okay I’m done venting.. just my two cents..

Please go to the Food Inc website and sign the petition for better food guidelines for our schools.

So it’s been almost a couple years now that I’ve been single.. longest I’ve been on my own since 2000. I had three girlfriends from 2000 – 2007. So it’s been an adjustment. Why am I telling the world all of this? Who knows.. I feel like blogging so why not. It’s therapy to me so doesn’t matter if people read it or not. This is like a diary and I never thought much of those back in the day. But sometimes I like getting stuff off my chest and later it’s interesting to read what I wrote.

Sooo.. yeah it’s been a couple years of rolling solo. But am I unhappy? Hell no! I’m actually very happy because for the first time, I know what it means to truly love yourself. See, I never loved myself enough in the past and I felt the need to have to have someone else love me in order for me to feel better out myself. The saying “you have to love yourself before you can truly lover someone else” is absolutely true. I feel more ready to be in a relationship and to truly be in love then I ever have! So why am I single? Well for one, I’m super picky about who I give my heart to next. The one who gets it is gonna have to really deserve it. And it’s also because I’ve decided to focus on priorities and those are my family right now. I want to take care of them, help them all out.. they’re going through tough times because of the recession and I feel like the kid in the family who has a shot at truly making a difference.

So my goal is to become wealthy enough to be able to help them financially when needed and make sure we all have a great future. I don’t need material things to feel happy. But I would like to be comfortable.. have a nice house, pool, car.. freedom to travel and go on vacations.. raise kids and give them 100%.. so in order to have all that, I’m 100% focused on my businesses. One joke I make is when girls ask if I have a girlfriend.. I say “yeah I do. her name’s Media One Pro”. So yeah, I’m kinda engaged to my business! But it’s worth it to me because right now, no girl is going to help me take it to the top. If anything, they’ve been more distraction than helpful in the past. I’d like to think that one special girl was out there who could help make my life better.. someone who turned me on inside and out, who laughed with me, who shared the same values, who supported my career and loved me 1000%. That’d be great.. But I’m not going to sit around and wait and hope for her to turn up! All I can do is make myself be the best me that I can be and when that one girl comes along who’s worth it.. it’ll happen. But for now, the goal is to build up my company and have a great 2010! So far everythings been going right.. business has shot through the roof and I’ve had to hire more employees and spend more money on building the infrastructure.. it’s crazy how much money I spend.. I work 16 hours a day and I don’t have enough money to buy a ticket home to visit my family for Thanksgiving.. but I know that this will pay off.. for any business to succeed, you have to be passionate and you have to be willing to give up a lot in order for it to get to the next level… it’s crazy how I forget to eat or take breaks throughout the day.. i’m so determined to make this happen!

If all continues to go well, then I can take a nice break next summer.. and not just any break but one in style!! I want first class.. Bahamas.. Philippines.. Hawaii.. anywhere that’s warm and has great room service.. i’m going VIP for two weeks and turning my phone off.. that’s it! And when I come back, continue building my empire.

Okay, blah blah blah.. done with this.. gonna head to gym, start my new training method.. i’ll write about it later.. it’s a combo of lifting, boxing drills, and ergoscue method. Also started new eating plan too.. fresh veg’s all week from the market.. gonna look and feel my best! alright, peace y’all.
